Theatres in crores of losses attributable to Jana Nayagan. The controversy over Vijay’s Jana Nayagan directed by H.Vinoth and the non launch of the movie in response to sources left theatres in losses.

Commerce Analyst Ramesh Bala defined “Pongal was speculated to witness the conflict of Vijay’s Jana Nayagan and Sivakarthikeyan’s Parasakthi. Nonetheless, the movie’s launch was stalled. Vijay’s movie may simply have made ₹150-200 crore in Tamil Nadu alone. Parasakthi made ₹55 crore in Tamil Nadu.”

He continued  “Since there isn’t a projected income, the Tamil Nadu field workplace may have misplaced nearly ₹100 crore due to Jana Nayagan’s delay,”

He claimed that the primary quarter of 2026 ‘screams disaster’ for Tamil cinema and that theatre house owners may’ve sustained for 2-3 months simply from Jana Nayagan reviving the enterprise after the dry part since November 2025.

Jana Nayagan starred  Mamitha Baiju, Pooja Hegde and Bobby Deol in lead roles.
