Surveen Chawla says `I had all of the assist` from makers after changing into a mom
Even after Surveen Chawla wrapped up Rana Naidu’s first season over two years in the past, she couldn’t shed her character of Naina Naidu. That’s why returning to the set for the sequence’ second season felt like homecoming to her. “Whilst you’re doing a component, there’s a residual to it, and you recognize there will likely be a second season. So, subconsciously, you don’t depart the character. I didn’t ever depart Naina. I knew her arc was incomplete. So, I left it open-ended,” says Chawla, who’s joined by Venkatesh Daggubati, Rana Daggubati, and Arjun Rampal within the Netflix sequence.
Recently, a discourse across the trade’s stance on new moms has emerged within the wake of the Deepika Padukone and Sandeep Reddy Vanga fallout. The 2, who have been to collaborate on Spirit, had a disagreement when Padukone reportedly wished an eight-hour shift, amongst a number of calls for, as she was a brand new mom. Once we ask Chawla, who welcomed parenthood in 2019, about her expertise within the trade, she says, “I communicate just for myself. I did a Netflix present quickly after I turned a mother, and I had all of the assist. I do know there’s a lot at stake. Past a degree, I’m positive I can’t be accommodated for. However at the moment, I received lots of flexibility from my makers and the platform. If any person actually desires to solid you, they’ll accommodate [your needs]. And if it doesn’t suit your calls for, then you need to be okay with it. You should prioritise [your needs]. You need to be pragmatic and never anticipate the world to bow down at your ft.”
