Widespread Tamil poet and lyricist Vairamuthu was conferred the distinguished Jnanpith award on 14 March 2026 by the Union Authorities of India.
Following that, Tamil Nadu CM Stalin congratulated him with the next publish.
“The Jnanpith Award goes to the poet Vairamuthu, who guidelines Tamil together with his poetry! I used to be assembly and speaking to the poet this morning. This candy information arrived shortly after, including to the sweetness of that assembly! He continued “If the chief had been an artist, he would have praised Kaviperarasu with all his coronary heart. I stand beside him and congratulate Kaviperarasu @Vairamuthu. Tamil Nadu congratulates the poets on their reign (sic),”
Vairamuthu penned lyrics for about 7,500 songs in Tamil movies. Earlier Authorities of India honored him with each the Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan awards.
