Centre advises ZEE5 to not launch it



Citing legislation and order concern, the Ministry of Info and Broadcasting (MIB) has suggested OTT platform ZEE5 to not launch a controversial documentary linked to gangster actions, citing severe issues over public order and the potential glorification of crime. The docuseries is predicated on the lifetime of imprisoned gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. 

Why Centre has suggested in opposition to releasing the docuseries?

The directive is available in reference to an ongoing Public Curiosity Litigation (CWP-PIL-107-2026) filed earlier than the Punjab and Haryana Excessive Court docket within the case of Amarinder Singh Raja Warring vs Union of India and others.
